Argentine-Italian, born in Buenos Aires and a Luxembourg resident for over 25 years. Ceramist, contemporary jewellery creator and painter.
My journey began with Japanese ceramics; a school that taught me the delicacy of gestures and shapes in the making of an object. Later, I incorporated porcelain to my work, initially as a base for painting and most recently as a raw material with which to create new shapes.
Each porcelain piece I create is entirely handmade using very delicate thicknesses that combined with the translucency of the material ensures each piece is unique and inimitable. Some of my latest works and installations comprise small porcelain pieces of fragile appearance, which are similar but inevitably distinguishable one from another in their form and message.
The search for new materials, shapes, spaces and colours, brought me to the creation of contemporary jewellery. This form of expression allowed me to incorporate new elements in my practice such as metal, leather, glass and textile.
In combination with these different disciplines, I have continued to pursue painting on canvas, which I was encouraged to start by my mother, a painter herself, from a very young age. Today I engage mostly with oil painting to create abstract pieces.
The way I see this multi-disciplinary journey is as a path of interaction, between myself and my works, underpinned by the imagination, creativity, continuous learning and unexpected surprises of the materials I engage with. I seek to create pieces that incite curiosity, cause surprise and generate sensations.
From the Nagare school of Japanese ceramics in Argentina, to the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium, I have frequented a number of schools and workshops and have never ceased learning.
